Perhaps what is most powerful is Morrison’s discussion of the ways in which a nation’s obsession with color has outweighed any insight into the culture or the characteristics of people.
A great series of essays lectures, really concerning the Other who that is and how they are classified and how literature contextualizes the constructs of how we view them.
Morrison’s text does not use the word “race,” but characterizes “Others,” by the ways in which they interact. Or does it always happen?
