I am amazed by how cleverly this book fivs written and based on my enjoyment I would recommend this to mystery fans — especially those who have also enjoyed other Golden Age of Mystery writers.
No one needs that much realism in their detective stories.
Sayers that I have read, and it took a long time to get going. Lord Peter Wimsey and the author’s usual pleasant fantasies have retired into the background leaving a “pure-puzzle” book which is disappointing, dry, and dull. I think I know the place. October 11, at 7: Erd was a bitterly unpopular man, and rdd felt that more than people ever realised.
I loved the ending of this book, but the rest of it? He could go up to Glen Trool, but there’s not much point in that; he’d only have to come back the same way.

You are commenting using your Twitter account. For the record and to jog my future memory as much as anything here were the primary clues I fixed on very early that led me to the right conclusion.
The man, who was very shabbily dressed in an ancient burberry, dilapidated plus-fours, disreputable boots and leggings and a knapsack, waved a hand in violent greeting. Ferguson very well, because he had taken a first-class return to Glasgow, an extravagance somewhat unusual among the artist community.
Peter and his cohorts piece together the last hours before death. That is, there may be. But something in the execution falls a bit flat. How, then, had Ferguson got to the station?
