GUILD WARS BAND 1: DIE GEISTER VON ASCALON im
Just go into city and retrieve a weapon. It was nicely written and a wonderful read, in my opinion. I brought Shadow of the Colossuswhich I hadn’t played at the time, and Jak 3which I’ve been trying to beat since I was 10 years old. Very good story, enough plot twists to keep you geisetr your toes. I really wanted to love this book. They had goal and they were coming for it, but no stronger enemies, and I was expecting some sort of building up and climax, but it just dissipated like every ghost from Ascalon Centuries later, the descendants of Ascalon, exiled to the nation of Kryta, are besieged on all sides.
It was refreshing to have her to challenge the views of the other races. Jul 16, kazerniel rated it really liked it. He even has a title for it. Most of the characters were stereotypes and poorly fleshed out. I enjoyed the dialogue and the witty banter, and found myself drawn to the main character Dougal Keane and sscalon to Kranxx the Asura.
It was a fun ride, though! Excellent I love Guild Wars 2 enough that this book was brilliant to me. But then, it was Florida. But then it was in contrast to my grumpy grandfather and his insect infested house littered with snot-rags gild pill bottles, made only worse by the unbearable Florida September.
Satisfying ending, but sad the next book has a different POV. On the plane ride back from Florida however, I was already knee-deep in Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland. Also, playing the game helped me connect with this book even more.
I would recommend this book to anyone that likes adventure books and is looking for a great read!
The geisterr of the book would be fun as part of the game but the book itself was meh. It is based off an RPG, it meant to connect the two games together, and doesn’t go too in-depth on much of anything. Jul 02, Elise rated it really liked it. Preview — Ghosts of Ascalon yuild Matt Forbeck.
Even though this book contains a great amount of peril and unhappiness, it all ends on a wonderful note.
There are no discussion topics on this book yet. My favorite writers always show, not tell.
Killeen and Kranxx were especially shining, the former with her charming mixture of innocence and creepiness, the latter with the characteristically sardonic humour of the asura.
Expected stuff for a new teenage reader. Reading about all the races and their struggles and finding out more lore on this world – I enjoyed it so much, and the double-cross at the end really got me – not so much the betrayal but the acts that went into it. I know what is Moa, how Ascalon looks I battled thousands of ghosts even if it sounds so ridiculous: The once mighty kingdom became a haunted shadow of its former glory.
Oct 10, William Bentrim rated it really liked it. But that’s a personal issue, I figure! Writing style It is detailed and suits the story, not much to be said as a matter of fact.
I laughed at how small-minded I’ve been about the other races inhabiting one of my all-time favorite universes; I never considered how our former enemies felt toward our heroes. Absolutely no “Ah, shit!

That and I had gotten used to the fact that game tie-ins are notoriously bad about giving background information, as if they expect anyone picking it up to be an uber fan of the game and already have all that knowledge. Ghosts of Ascalon is a tie-in novel that came out while Guild Wars 2 was still in production. Dadurch war es zwar ganz interessant, aber eben nicht sehr geistee.
How it made me cry after a character not naming names that i grew attached to died. At Barnes and Noble I picked out two Guild Wars books this one and Edge of Destiny geisterr, both tie-ins to the video game series, because I was looking forward to the then-upcoming Guild Wars 2 game which was set to be released around that time and I wanted to familiarize myself with the universe and lore.
I’ve been playing Guild Wars 2 for almost 2 years by the time I started reading the novels.

It is not as rich in emotion as e. The pace is neither too slow nor too fast, and you don’t drag yourself through it. Now a mismatched band of adventurers, each plagued by ghosts of their own, sets forth into a haunted, war-torn land to retrieve the Claw. Among many other details, the book tells about both sides of the war from the rival humans and charr. The authors did a really good gulld with this novel, the characters are are all real personalities with believable motivations and inner workings.
The thing is, you have to take veister book for what it is. The pacing of the action felt all wrong, Dougal Keane was boring as a main character. It was just a lot of fun. To exemplify the change I went through, on the plane ride to Florida I read a video game vln and a martial arts magazine that I had picked up at the airport I wasn’t into martial arts but that particular issue was specially dedicated to the films asczlon Bruce Lee.
Guild Wars 3 books. But they did it so easy, their enemies fell too quick, and I couldn’t feel ANY building of tension. As for the extinction of the Dwarves But interesting enough for the lore.
